About Us
Rational Unicorn Legal Services began in Portland, Oregon in 2017 with a simple goal: to create a law firm that feels approachable and connected to community.
Today, we continue to serve small businesses, nonprofits, and entrepreneurs throughout Oregon and Washington while also collaborating with clients nationwide. Our attorneys are not only trained in law but also have hands-on experience running small businesses and bring a wide range of life experiences to their work. These diverse perspectives help us understand the challenges our clients face and allow us to provide support that is practical and grounded in real experience.
Firm Achievements
Rational Unicorn was voted Best Law Firm in the 2024 and 2025 Best of Portland Readers’ Poll. Attorneys Lindy Laurence and Nicole Hetz were voted 2nd and 3rd place for Best Lawyers in 2025, and Attorney Nicole Hetz won first place for Best Lawyer in 2024.
